## HOW ARE METALS CLASSIFIED?
Metals play a major role today in all areas of society’s development. These materials are present daily in…
SODIUM CELLULOSIC: These are high-penetration electrodes with excellent fusion, easy slag removal, good radiographic quality, smooth arc, easy operation in all positions, good strength and ductility. This family includes E-6010 and E-6011 type electrodes, designed for work on pipelines, boilers, thermoelectric plants, petrochemical facilities, etc.
SODIUM RUTILE: These are medium-penetration electrodes with a quiet arc, convex and smooth beads, and good operability in all positions. This family includes E-6012 type electrodes.
POTASSIUM RUTILE: These electrodes are not suitable for deep penetration; they offer easy arc striking, smooth arc, low spatter, easy slag removal, easy operability in all positions, good arc stability, smooth beads, and excellent finish. This group includes the following electrode types: E-6013, E-7014, E-7024.
SODIUM CELLULOSE IRON POWDER: High penetration, high deposition rate and good fusion, high strength and excellent X-ray quality, fast-freezing slag. It is due to this characteristic that its downhill operability is excellent, as are all its applications. This type of electrode operates in all positions. It is designed for pipeline welding in oil and gas pipelines, and boilers, excellent for root and hot passes.
This group includes the following electrodes: E-7010A-1, for steel pipe, API 5-LX GRADE X42, X46, X52, X60.
SODIUM CELLULOSE: High penetration, good X-ray quality, recommended for oil and gas pipeline applications with an excellent root pass, but also recommended for fill and cap passes. Designed for welding oil and gas pipeline pipe. Its most outstanding characteristics are its operability in all positions. They are indicated for welding carbon steel pipe of the following grades: API 5-LX60, 5LX-65.
This group includes the following electrode types: E-8010G, E-9010G.
